Ingredients

Serves : 5
  • 2 medium sized beetroot


  • 2 medium sized potatoes


  • 1 tsp fennel powder


  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder


  • 1 tsp coriander powder


  • 1 tsp chaat masala


  • 1 tsp dry mango powder


  • 2 Green chili (finely chopped)


  • 1 tsp salt


  • 1 tsp minced ginger


  • 2 tbsp corn starch


  • 1/2 cup rava or sooji


  • 2 tbsp refined oil


  • 4 tsp crushed peanut

Directions

  • In a pan or pressure cooker ,boil both the beetroot and potatoes together with some salt and enough water for 4-5 whistles on medium flame..
  • Drain all the water. Then peel and grate the beetroot in a bowl..
  • Grate the potato in the same bowl.
  • Add all the Spice powders, green chillies, salt and corn starch ..
  • Mix everything well with your hands. Now shape them into round tikkis..
  • Take some roasted semolina(rava) in a plate..
  • Place each beetroot tikki on the semolina and ensure that they are evenly coated on all sides by the semolina..
  • In a pan add 2tbsp oil and fry the beetroot tikkis till they are crisp and golden..
  • Serve beetroot tikki hot with any chutney...
